Moody’s Mega Math Challenge Chooses Student Winners

When Jenny Lai, Abram Sanderson, Amy Xiong, Lynn Zhang, and Roy Zhao boarded the plane to go back home from New York City, they were $20,000 richer than when they arrived. That’s because the five seniors from Plymouth, Minnesota were chosen as the 2013 Champions for the Moody’s Mega Math Challenge.

The 2013 M3 Challenge winners are from Plymouth, Minnesota, and were awarded $20,000.

At a recent EATS Philly fund-raiser, TapSnap “turned out to be a great marketing tool,” said Kimberly Ettinger, who managed the event’s publicity. “Each photo . . . was branded with an EATS Philly 2013 logo so that wherever people chose to share their photos . . . that logo would be seen by a whole new audience.”

Wayzata team wins Mega Math Challenge

Students on the Wayzata High School Math Team took first place in this year’s Moody’s Mega Math Challenge out of 1,054 submitted papers.

The team earned first-place after its 15-minute presentation to a panel of professional applied mathematicians on April 29 at Moody’s headquarters in New York City’s financial district.
